Today Pantone released their
Spring 2013 palette for fashion colors (if you don't know, Pantone is a huge color company that matches designers' colors to a finished product from design to processing, and is used in fabrics, plastics, and print). The colors that inspire fashion and interior design always work their way through pop culture--and Pantone certainly has a loud voice and a remarkable eye for creating and picking up on trends. These colors will pop up on the runway, in Hollywood, on the newsstands, and in interior design. I only started paying attention when 2011's color of the year was "honeysuckle," a beautiful rose-pink, which is excellent with gray, and we all know how modern quilters love gray...

What do you think will be influenced by this? Keep an eye out, I bet we will be seeing a lot of muted tones and perhaps a noticeable reduction in hot pink.
And if you missed it, here's their predicted color of the year for 2012, right now,
Tangerine Tango.

Umm... not so much for me. But Halloween is right around the corner!
Will you take inspiration from the 2013 color palette for any of your sewing?
